By virtue of a warrant granted out of his Lordship's Land Office of this Province to Col. Thomas Cresap for one thousand acres of land bearing the date by renewment December 29th 1752 and by him one hundred and thirteen acres is assigned to Daniel Cresap of the County of Frederick-
I therefore certify as Deputy Surveyor under the Honorable Benjamin Tasker, Esq. President of Maryland, that I have carefully laid out for and in the name of Daniel Cresap all that tract of land called Limestone Rock beginning at two bounded locust trees standing about three perches from a great rock called Limestone Rock and about two perches from the Potomack River and on the North side of side river and running thence (It being in the Northwest corner of the province)

- S 18º W 34 perches
- S 27º W 52 perches
- S 38º W 44 perches
- N 70º W 60 perches
- N 19º E 100 perches
- then by a straight line to the beginning trees
Containing and now laid out for sixty three acres of land to be held of Conococheague Manor.

NOTES:
This tract of land was later sold by George Mason to Thomas Beall of Samuel (10/27/1783). Thomas Beall sold it to James Slicer (06/24/1785). Limestone Rock is said to adjoin Walnut Bottom, which was divided into lots by Thomas Beall of Samuel and became the town of Cumberland.
